Schock

Last July we chose the restaurant for the wedding. We chose it in July, more than one year before the wedding because we have lot of guests that come from Europe, and we wanted they could book the flight without spending a fortune. Last Monday I called to the restaurant to be sure all the things are ok, and to make an appointment to decide details. They said, yes, no problems.
Then on Sunday (same week I called them), they called me to say "there is a little problem".
For me a little problem is something like, "I write your name without a letter", NOT "WE SOLD THE DATE OF YOUR WEDDING TO ANOTHER COUPLE". They make this "mistake" on December, and they said it to me only now, in March, 4 months before wedding, only because I called them.
They said, "Sorry but, we lost your phone number" and other stupid things.
I don't know what people say in English for this kind of things, but, I have no words.
Fortunately our wedding is on Saturday, and we found immediately another restaurant, but if the wedding was on Sunday, no way to find another restaurant. No way.
They say to me " You can change the date of the wedding, so you can come here!"....Yes, of course!
We never get bored .__.

Wedding in Progress

When Dvd asked me to merry him *.* ( my friend Giulia says that Dvd is the last man of a line extinct by now) , I was so happy and excited and happy that I bought all the wedding magazine like Vogue Sposa (= bride) that I could find. In one of these magazines I found the review of  this book : "Handmade Weddings" . I decided to buy it immediately. We falled in love with a kind of wedding invitation we found in this book and as soon as possible I will show you them.
We had lots of idea about arrangement, then my mother tried to make some flowers with plastic bottles and some others with tissue paper : they are wonderful so we decided to base our wedding on recycle.
We bought recycled paper to make the invitation card and after several tests, we are almost sure they are perfect (well, perfect for us, you can approve or reject them!) .
Now, voilà some of the fowers my mom has just made :

It's a little bit difficult to understand how they are made with picture, but I like them very much!

And now 7 things about me:

1. When I have to write something about me, I never know what to write. 
2. I love when in March we (Dvd and I) go away to spent some days in a foreign country, far from work and study, this March we will go to Tallinn. 
3. When I was a child sometimes during the night I asked my father to bring me a glass of water and he brought it to me imediately. Now when I come back home, sometimes during the night I ask my father to bring me a glass of water, and even if I'm not a child anymore and I think he should say to me "hop hop! you can take it with your hands!", he brought me a glass of water  imediately. Lovely Daddy. 
4. When I met Dvd four years ago, I lived with other 3 girls that I met to the University and we were all friends. When Dvd went to our house, and I was in the kitchen with the other girls or maybe to the toilet, sometimes he put under my pillow a vintage postcard where he wrote Pablo Neruda's love poetry. When I went to bed..ta-dah! surprise! 
5. I can remember all the things I heard and watch in a movie that I saw years and years ago, but I have difficulty to remember things I have to study for my exams.
6. Since I was 16 or 17 I was so shy that I wasn't able to walk head-high (?) . 
7. I'm proud of me because once I thought I would never be able to do nothing, for example cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and I discover I can do all this things and also other more (eheh..self-esteem where were you??) 

Goodbye

Hello sweeties,
I came back in Parma yesterday night, I spent last 10 days at home with my family and yesterday we said goodbye for the last time to my dear Grandpa, who died on Monday 20th in the morning. I'm a little bit sad but I'm proud of my Grandma because she decide to donate his organs and now three people could begin a new life. This help me to make a sense to a sudden and unexpected death.
I will remember my Granpa forever and I will honour him making the things I always made with him and with all the family.
I show you this picture (2 years ago in January), where you can see Dvd with my Granpa Luigi, absorbed in the fine art of making sausages (yes, every year we make sausages, ham and other delicious things with pork meat).

Pain

I've always hoped Grandparents were immortal. But on Saturday I received a terrible piece of news. My Grandpa falled down and banged his head. He had headache so he went to rest. Actually he had a brain haemorrhage. Because of an anticoagulant medicine that he has to take for his heart, doctors could do little or nothing to stop haemorrhage. They gave him a medicine to contrast anticoagulant medicine, but it doesn't work.
Now we only have to wait. Doctors says we can't hope for something good, because his brain is completely ruined. We can see him only half hour per day, for 5 minutes. And I don't know neither if I can see him when I will come back home because there are at least three meter of snow, and roads are almost not practiable and the hospital is in another town.
So, I can do nothing, I would like to go to my grandma house, to console and help her. But she lives in the countryside and now it's really difficult to go there. But this is Life and we can only wait.

Cappello presto fatto! (Dvd hat)

Last weeks were very cold (like -13°Celsius) and Dvd forgot his hat inside his car. And his car is to the mechanic garage. So, after a day of boring study I went to the yarn shop and I bought some warn yarn to make a hat for Dvd. 

I choose a pattern on Raverly for a very simple and fast hat. 

I can show you only these picture because at the moment I have no picture of the finished hat!

I sewed it on the back side but for the next time I would like to use circular needle (now I have only one 3.5 mm circular needle but very very awkward because the cable spin around (?) ) : yesterday I bought the KnitPro Starter Kit on Get Knitted so I can learn to use circular needles too..can't wait !

Let it snow!

Hi dears,
I know, I know, I appear and disapperar..but you know, study before all other things!

In this period happened two rare events:

. earthquake, two times, big earthquake but not so big to destroy house or other things. Anyway Totoro, Dvd and I, we get soo frightened.

. Snow. Ok, it's winter and snow it's normal. Usually in the city we have just a little bit of snow, and on the  coast it's very very difficult to see snow. On the contrary, in the countryside it snow pretty much.

But this year, it's snowing also on the coast, lots of town are in trouble, some road are closed, and in the countryside, where my grandma lives, there are so much problems. There snow is taller than 1 meter, and on the house of my grandma a chimneypot fallen down! 

Fortunately here in Parma roads are free from snow, we have no problem here. However you can see the pictures of a dazed cat that see snow for the first time!
